Take time to be Holy

This piece combines monotony with expressiveness, reminiscent of our lives. For though we live day to day routines and obligations, it is important to set aside time with Jesus.

Expressing ourselves in music is a lot like expressing our personal, ineffable feelings to God and in turn growing in our expression of God through our ways.

Take care that the almost obligato left hand doesn’t get annoying. To do so, you need to vary the tempo where the left hand stands out, usually giving it a ritard leading in to the melody. At the top of the second page you can hurry a little to get through the left hand figure. The left hand should be legato throughout while the right hand is a little more crisp.

Take time to be Holy,
Speak of with thy Lord,
Abide in Him always,
And feed on his word.
