When he was at table with them, he took the bread and blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. And their eyes were opened and they recognized him. And he vanished out of their sight. They said to one another, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the scriptures?”

Christian, I hope you have had the experience of a heart burning within as you learn from the scripture. Though it may not happen every time you study the Bible alone or with friends, it happens often enough to make the effort well worthwhile.

The key change in this music reminds me of having my eyes opened and recognizing something wonderful. Practice it slowly to get a feel for the rubato tempo changes. (Generally, accelerate into phrases.) In performance, you can play it pretty fast.

Regular visitors will have noticed that I have neglected to replace the featured piece of the month in several months. I’m discouraged. Nobody seems to care. Nobody is paying for the music. What? Does nobody like it? Are Christian musicians all dishonorable?

I’m looking into setting up a subscriber portion, which means I would have to pull off some of the free pieces and you wouldn’t be able to browse the music and try it before paying for it. But I hesitate in making my music less available. I do consider it a ministry to provide this music in churches around the world, even the impoverished. But desire is waning.

I do hope you will pay of your own honesty. Paying is extremely easy to do, whether or not you have a PayPal account.
